Plain Number — No Currency
Numbers are spelled out in plain English words with no currency labels. Decimal parts are expressed as "and XX/100" (General) or "point X X..." (plain decimal). This is the standard English-language naming convention using the Western short scale (thousands, millions, billions, trillions).
Western Short-Scale Numbering System
Scale: thousand (10³) → million (10⁶) → billion (10⁹) → trillion (10¹²).
This converter uses the short scale standard, where each new term above million is 1,000 times the previous term. This system is used in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and most English-speaking countries. It differs from the long scale (used in some European languages) where billion = 10¹².
