Detect and Remove Silence from Audio Online — Load an audio file (MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A and more) and pick what to do: detect every silent gap and show its timestamps, remove all silent sections and pull the remaining audio together, or trim only the silence at the start and end of the file. Threshold and minimum silence length are adjustable. Everything runs locally in your browser.
Supported input: MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, Opus, M4A, AAC, WMA, AIFF and other common audio formats. Files are never uploaded to a server.
First use loads an ~30MB audio processing engine into the current browser. It is cached and reused afterwards, so please be patient.

Any common audio format; under 500MB recommended
Detect only: scans the file and lists every silent gap with its start time, end time and duration. Nothing is modified.
Units & meaning: the threshold (dB) is the volume below which a section counts as silence (lower = quieter, e.g. -40dB is louder than -50dB). The minimum silence length (seconds) ignores gaps shorter than that value. If no silent section is found, the file is left untouched.
