Convert XML data into CSV (comma-separated values) format or an escaped string literal.
Extracts repeating elements as CSV rows with attributes as columns.
All processing happens locally in your browser — your data is never uploaded to any server.
Output:
Input (XML)
Output (CSV)
XML → CSV: Extracts repeating child elements from an XML document and converts them into CSV rows. Element tag names become column headers, text content becomes cell values.
XML → String: Escapes the XML content into a string literal suitable for embedding in source code. Wraps in double quotes by default.
Tip: XML must be well-formed. The converter looks for repeating elements under a common parent. For deeply nested XML, only the first level of repeating children is extracted.
From repeating elements to rows
XML has no table concept — it becomes CSV only through repetition: sibling elements under one parent map to rows, child elements to columns. The converter looks for that repeating pattern, which is why deeply nested or irregular XML converts poorly; attributes and mixed content are not extracted into the grid. Escaping to a string literal is the other direction — the XML text is quoted for embedding in source code.
Format the XML first to inspect where the repetition lives.
📋 Tips
CSV output: Extracts repeating elements at the second level (e.g., <root><item>...).
String output: Escapes quotes, newlines, tabs, and backslashes. Useful for embedding XML in JavaScript/JSON strings.
Attributes are included as additional columns prefixed with @.
