Repair a broken Word (.docx) file and recover its text — Drop in a damaged DOCX. The package is unpacked with CRC tolerance so readable entries can be saved back into a fresh copy; if the main document XML cannot be parsed, the raw text is recovered with a fallback extractor and shown in a repair report. Download the repaired DOCX and/or the recovered text. Everything runs locally — no upload, no server, no cloud.

Why .docx files break — and what repair can do
A .docx is a ZIP package, so most "corruption" is a damaged entry inside the archive: a transfer that got cut off, a USB stick with bad blocks, a sync tool that wrote half the file, or Word being killed mid-save. The damage is usually local — the parts outside the broken region are often intact, which is what recovery exploits.
Repair reads with CRC tolerance and salvages every readable entry into a fresh copy; your original file is never modified. If the main document XML is unrecoverable, the raw text is still extracted. For editing the recovered file use the Word Viewer / Editor.
