Compare two versions of any text — paste side by side, run the diff, and read additions (green),
removals (red) and inline character-level edits. A Myers line diff powers the side-by-side view, with a character-level
pass for changed lines and a similarity score.
All processing happens locally in your browser — your data is never uploaded to any server.
How to use — Put the
original text on the left and the
changed text on the right, then click
Compare Diff (or press
Ctrl+Enter).
Reading the view — unchanged lines span both columns; red lines were removed, green lines were added. Lines that were
changed pair a removed line with an added line, and the inline character diff marks the exact characters that were deleted (deep red) or inserted (deep green).
Options —
Ignore case and
Ignore leading/trailing whitespace soften the line comparison;
Inline character diff switches the per-line character highlighting on or off.
Unified view — click
Toggle Unified View to see the same result as a unified diff text (
+/
- prefixes) that you can copy or download.
Binary files? — to compare executables, images or any other binary data byte by byte, use the
Binary File Compare tool.
For very large inputs the tool truncates gracefully at 200,000 characters / 10,000 lines per side and warns you. All data is processed locally — nothing is uploaded.
