VCD means video
Compact Disk which is a compressed image format.
VCD is a full-motion, full-screen broadcast video
standards developed jointly by electrical
manufactures like SONY, Philip, JVC, etc. With its
video compressed in MPEG-1 compression way and
audio compressed in MPEG-1 layer 2 way, even the
trained professionals cannot distinguish the
original CD format from CD format after
compressing in such way. VCD is widely used in
Asia and owing to its features of free code and
lower cost, it is sure that it will not be
replaced by DVD in a short time. To synchronize/sync
vcd file, if the VCD file is encoded with VCD1.0
format, it is not necessary to install any
additional VCD decoder. If the vcd file is encoded
with 1.1 or 2.0 format, please install DVD players
such as WinDVD Player or PowerDVD Player, which
include the appropriate vcd decoder. VISTA has
bundled VCD1.1/2.0 decoder.
Download
Audio Video Synchronizer
which
can synchronize/sync audio/video of vcd file.
Click the Options button, select Output Format
with WMV as the output format. Please insert a VCD
into the CD/DVD drive, browse the folder MPEGAV on
the disk. There are some VCD files named
MUSIC01.DAT, MUSIC02.DAT or AVSEQ01.DAT,
AVSEQ02.DAT etc in the folder. Then open a file
in the program for synchronization. After you
get the proper wmv files, then try
avi/wmv to VCD to burn them to vcd if necessary.
